Rep. Trone Takes Trip to Border, Will Visit McAllen and El Paso, TX

Washington, D.C – Today, Rep. David Trone (MD-06) embarked on a visit to McAllen and El Paso, TX to tour CBP and ICE facilities and gain a better understanding of the southern border and our broken immigration system.

“I am visiting the border to investigate the reports of horrible conditions and the stories of families being ripped apart that so many of us have heard about,” said Congressman David Trone. “We have a responsibility in Congress to protect the health, dignity, and lives of those who come to our border. We must ensure this process is humane and honors our values as a country.”

Congressman David Trone was elected to the House of Representatives in November 2018 to serve the 6th District of Maryland, which includes all or part of Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties. Trone serves on the Education and Labor, Foreign Affairs, and Joint Economic Committees, where he is fighting to make progress on issues that matter to Marylanders, including the opioid epidemic, criminal justice reform, and funding for medical research.
