Washington, DC - Today, Congressman David Trone (MD-06) applauded the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates for voting to override Governor Hogan’s veto of the “ban the box” legislation. Trone recently helped lead the effort to “ban the box” for federal employees and contractors, which President Trump signed into law as part of the National Defense Authorization Act. Trone is now drafting legislation that would “ban the box” as a hiring practice for private sector businesses.

The new legislation would create a $25 million grant program over five years to help national and local nonprofit organizations provide family support services for addiction treatment.
