Tucked into the federal funding package that includes $13.6 billion in assistance for the Ukrainians is about $2 million in allocations for Montgomery County.
The omnibus funding package includes $1 million for a broadband career training pilot program in Montgomery County, $500,000 for the South Germantown Recreational Park in Boyds, and $325,000 for telehealth expansion for Everymind, a mental health resource center in Montgomery County.
Funding for the recreational park, which is a 23,500-square-foot facility with a splash park and miniature golf course, will be used to rehabilitate the park access road and trails in poor condition.
“With this funding, we are delivering much-needed relief to hardworking Americans who are struggling to pay for child care, housing, health care, and vital broadband access,” said U.S. Rep. David Trone (D-6). “These are investments in a brighter future for our country, a more resilient economy, and a stronger workforce to compete in the 21st century. We are building a better America.”
