Trone’s Vaccine Newsletter Helps Thousands of Constituents Find Vaccine Information

Inaugural Newsletter Viewed by Over 55,000 Marylanders in Sixth District

WASHINGTON — As Marylanders continue to face challenges accessing information about COVID vaccine eligibility and how to get the vaccine, Congressman David Trone (MD-06) announced that his COVID Vaccine Newsletter — which lists every location a person in Maryland’s Sixth District can access a vaccine — has helped thousands of his constituents access vaccine information. While Trone has advocated for the creation of a statewide hub, there is currently no place where Marylanders can sign up for a vaccine if they are eligible.

“Unlike West Virginia and other states that have been successful getting shots into arms, Maryland still lacks a central registration system. That’s why I put together this guide to make it easier for anyone who is eligible for a vaccine to get one,” said Congressman Trone. “Right now our number one priority is fighting this virus, and we need to make vaccine information easy to understand and accessible. My COVID vaccine newsletter has helped thousands get life-saving information, and I will continue to provide this information as it becomes available to my team and me.”

Every Monday, Trone sends out the newsletter to provide the most up-to-date information about vaccine availability. He has so far sent three newsletters. The newsletters include over 50 links to local health department websites, vaccination interest forms, and vaccination sites. Each newsletter contains information on who is currently eligible for the vaccine and how many doses have been administered in each county. Trone’s inaugural newsletter was viewed by over 55,000 Marylanders in the Sixth District.

The newsletters can be viewed here.
