Congressman David Trone Releases Statement on Announcement of Paul Wiedefeld as Secretary of Maryland’s Department of Transportation
Congressman David Trone (D-MD) released the following statement after Governor Wes Moore announced the appointment of Paul Wiedefeld as Secretary of Maryland’s Department of Transportation:
“I couldn’t think of a better, more qualified person to lead our state’s Department of Transportation than Paul. As the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues to provide historic investments for our communities, this is a momentous time for Maryland as we work together to build a brighter future for all Marylanders – whether they live in Oakland or Ocean City.
“From highways to railways, a successful transportation system connects communities, supports local economies, and creates good-paying jobs folks can count on. I have full confidence that Paul will keep Maryland on track.
“As a proud member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development, I know Paul’s experience leading the Maryland Transit Authority, Maryland Aviation Administration, and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will help forge a clear path for Maryland to build on its accomplishments in the 21st Century.
