Trone hopes housing tax credit will ease financial pinch on families

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — The high costs of housing has been a challenge in the region for families.

Rep. David Trone (D-Md.) is pushing on Capitol Hill for an expansion of a low-income housing tax credit that he hopes to see signed into law.

Medical bills also add to the financial stress, says Tovar. And Congressman Trone notes that Maryland is one of the nation’s more expensive housing markets adding money pressures to families trying to meet monthly budgets.

A lack of public housing is driving up homelessness, according to Trone.
