Appropriations Committee Member Rep. David Trone Releases Statement on Today’s Continuing Resolution
Congressman David Trone (D-MD), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement on today’s continuing resolution:
“It’s a shame.
“It’s a shame that House Republicans continue to put millions of families’ livelihoods in jeopardy every few months as they delay funding the government to make deeper cuts to the programs those families rely on.
“It’s a shame that our allies can’t depend on House Republicans to help them in their darkest hour of need, to deliver vital aid to the innocent civilians in Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza.
“It’s a shame, but not a surprise.
“House Democrats remain committed to passing long-term government funding legislation that sets our nation up for success and builds a brighter, more prosperous tomorrow for the American people.
“We stand ready and willing to rise above the dysfunction and get the job done.
“We urge House Republicans to do the same.”
