Maryland U.S. Delegation Secures Funding For Firefighters

U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin and Congressman David Trone announced over $600,000 in federal funding to support firefighters and first responders across Western Maryland. Funding will enhance response capabilities through equipment upgrades. Outdated hoses and nozzles will be replaced at seven Allegany County fire departments, Bedford Road Volunteers will be able to purchase 17 new sets of personal protective equipment and Midland Fire Company will be able to purchase a new gear washer and dryer. The funding comes through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
