Rep. David Trone Hosts Virtual Roundtable with Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) to Discuss Systemic Inequities in America
WASHINGTON, DC — Yesterday, U.S. Congressman David Trone (MD-06) hosted a virtual roundtable with Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) and community leaders to discuss some of the nation’s most pressing issues — from racial injustice and mass incarceration to the over-policing of communities of color.
The roundtable comes after months of social unrest following the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor.
“Yesterday, we came together and had a much-needed discussion about the systemic inequities that exist in our society today,” said Congressman David Trone. “I’d like to thank Congresswoman Kelly and the numerous leaders who shared their experiences and ideas about how we can create a more just and equitable society. Now, we take action.”

Congressman David Trone was elected to the House of Representatives in November 2018 to serve the 6th District of Maryland, which includes all or part of Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties. Trone serves on the Education and Labor, Foreign Affairs, and Joint Economic Committees, where he is fighting to make progress on issues that matter to Marylanders, including the opioid epidemic, criminal justice reform, and funding for medical research.
