Congressman Trone Applauds Hogan, Board of Elections Decision for Mail-Mostly Primary

GAITHERSBURG, MD – Today, U.S. Congressman David Trone (MD-06) released the below statement after Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and the Maryland Board of Elections released guidance that the June 2nd Maryland primary elections would be mail-mostly.

“I congratulate the Maryland Board of Elections and Governor Hogan for deciding to make the June 2nd primary elections mail-mostly.

“A mail-mostly election will ensure the greatest participation in our election while taking measures to ensure the enfranchisement of every Marylander, and I applaud the Governor and the Board of Elections for making this decision,” said Congressman David Trone. “Every Marylander should have the right and ability to vote safely in an election, and a mail-mostly primary is the best way to ensure this right.”

Previously, Congressman Trone called for a mail-mostly primary election and detailed how this system would look in Maryland.

Congressman David Trone was elected to serve Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District in December of 2018. He represents all or part of Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties.
