Trone Closes Out 2021 With Over $58.3 Million in Recovered Savings for Constituents Over the Next Ten Years

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman David Trone released his “Year in Review” report outlining his efforts to serve his constituents, including advocating for much-needed resources to combat the opioid and mental health crises, ensuring access to unemployment insurance benefits, and passing common-sense legislation to help make life easier for Marylanders.

Over the course of the last year, Trone and his team answered 83,423 constituent letters, emails, and calls – all while sticking to their 72-hour response time. Trone understands how hard the pandemic has hit our local businesses, so he made sure his constituents received the help they deserve. Through the Trone-backed American Rescue Plan, over $104 million in federal funding supported restaurants in the district, over $214 million in Shuttered Venue Grants helped Maryland’s small businesses, and nearly $70 million aided Maryland’s community health centers so our communities could get vaccinated and reopen for business.

While our economy continued to recover in 2021, many Marylanders were still struggling to make ends meet. Trone took action by recovering over $58 million in savings for constituents over the next 10 years, $48 million of which was unemployment insurance benefits returned to the pockets of Marylanders.

Congressman Trone’s office remains committed to helping constituents in every corner of the district with compassion, civility, and competence.  In fact, nearly 16,000 constituent service requests were answered last year – almost double the office’s record 7,561 in 2020.
