Trone Closes Out 2023 With Nearly 50,000 Constituent Letters, Emails, and Calls Answered
In May, Trone met with members of the Pleasant View Historical Association to present nearly $1 million in federal Community Project Funding to restore a Montgomery County historical landmark. The site once served as a center of the Black community in Maryland for more than 100 years, and this crucial funding will help preserve its history for generations to come
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman David Trone (D-MD) released his 2023 constituent service numbers, outlining his continued work serving Maryland, fighting our nation’s worsening mental health and addiction crises, and supporting historic legislation to improve the lives of Marylanders.
Throughout the past year, Trone and his team answered 49,021 constituent letters, emails, and calls – all while sticking to their 72-hour response time. Rep. Trone understands that it can be difficult for many Marylanders to make ends meet, so he took action by recovering $19,102,176 in savings for constituents over the next 10 years. Additionally, he delivered over $723,730,663 in federal grant funding to Maryland’s Sixth District.
Congressman Trone’s office remains committed to helping constituents in every corner of the district with compassion, civility, and competence. In fact, more than 9,000 requests for help from constituents were answered this past year alone.
Trone also met with community leaders on the ground to identify 15 projects in need of federal support. He secured nearly $30 million in FY23 Community Project Funding for local projects and priorities in the district, including $4 million to improve road infrastructure in Poolesville, nearly $1 million to restore the Pleasant View Historic Site, and $4.8 million to rebuild the Fayette Street Bridge in Cumberland.
As much progress as we’ve made, there’s still more to be done. Now, let’s get to work!
Congressman David Trone was elected to the House of Representatives in November 2018 to serve the 6th District of Maryland, which includes all or part of Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties.
